Obituary

Bobby Glen Mooneyham, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully at home on April 29, 2025. He was born on May 27, 1944, to Doxie and Louise Mooneyham in Houston, MS.

He attended Itawamba Junior College, earning an Associate of Arts degree in 1964. He later studied at Mississippi State and was awarded a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting in 1966. He completed his education with post-graduate studies at The School of Banking of the South and The National Commercial Lending School.  He served as a banker for forty-four years in his hometown at BancorpSouth, working his way to the position of regional president. He took great pride in helping others achieve financial stability in this role.

Bobby will be remembered for his love of his community. He contributed to his community through his service on the Chickasaw Development Foundation, the Houston Exchange Club, and the ICC board. He loved feeding others and regularly cooked for the men's breakfast at First Methodist Church. Bobby was eager to step in and fry fish or grill hamburgers for any school, church, or community group he had the opportunity to serve. He never met a stranger and was always happy to share a cup of coffee and his best jokes with anyone who had the time.

Many will remember Bobby for his love of Mississippi State. He contributed actively to the Alumni Association and rarely missed a home game. He developed numerous lifelong friendships through a shared passion for the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

Most of all, Bobby will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family. Bobby was a dedicated son and brother, committed to supporting his family in any way he could. He was married to Jennifer Lynn Tornwall Mooneyham for sixty years. Together, they raised four daughters and welcomed five cherished grandchildren.

He leaves behind his wife, Jennifer Mooneyham; four daughters, Michele Franklin (Hank), Tina Venus (Wesley), Patricia Mooneyham, and Ashley Roberson (Anthony); five grandchildren, Trey and Oliver Franklin, Keller and Lyla Roberson, and Ben Venus; a sister, Nina Terry; sisters-in-law Kim and Gladys Mooneyham, and several beloved nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Doxie and Louise Mooneyham; two brothers, Mike Mooneyham and Ron Mooneyham; a brother-in-law, Jim Terry; and a son-in-law, Cole Roberson.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate his lifetime of love and service during a visitation on May 3, 2025, from 12:00-2:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at First Methodist Church in Houston with Rev.
