Obituary

Billy Fred Wiggs, Sr.

Houlka- Billy Fred Wiggs, Sr., age 75, passed from this world on Sunday, January 30, 2022, and went to be with his Heavenly Father. He was surrounded by family at home in the days before his death. He was born to John Henry Wiggs and Lillie Frances Newell Wiggs on February 13, 1946, in Houlka, MS, and he was the oldest of twelve children.

Mr. Wiggs was in the furniture business for 40-plus years, owning M & W Furniture in Houlka, MS. Before owning his own business, he worked for other manufacturing facilities in the area. He also served in the Mississippi National Guard in his youth.

Before his illness, you would find him outdoors or in the domino hall playing with his friends. He was always in domino tournaments, where he and his partner would often come in at least 3rd place; sometimes, they would even come home with a 1st place trophy. They had won several tournaments the year that he became ill (2019). When he wasn't in the domino hall, he was raising cattle, farming hay, or doing anything else that could get him some time outdoors.
