- Houston- Billy L. Martin, 84, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. He was born February 23, 1933 in Lepanto, Arkansas to Evie Lee Martin and Dorothy Lucille Carter Martin. Mr. Martin retired from the United States Post Office after 24 years where he was a postman. He was also a member of First United Pentecostal Church of Houston. Billy served in the United States Navy in the Korean Conflict and when he left the Navy he worked for the Army Corp of Engineers.
Funeral Service will be at 2:00 O clock on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at First Pentecostal Church in Houston with Rev. Kenneth Wilson and Rev. Wayne Flake officiating.
Burial will be at Ellzey Cemetery in Calhoun County, MS.
Houston Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Margaret Ann Thompson Martin of Houston, his daughter, Beverly (Jim) Anderson of Houston, MS, son, Keith (Tootie) Martin of Houston, MS, grandchildren, Brittany Anderson (Charlie) Lambert, and Corey (Katie) Anderson, and great-grandchildren, Ava Margaret Lambert.
Billy Martin is preceded in death by his parents, special uncle, Silas Carter, and grandson, Billy Keith Martin Jr.
Pallbearers will be Hulon Vance, Heath Soden, and David Cameron.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 20, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at First Pentecostal Church in Houston.
