Lamar Yarbrough passed peacefully surrounded by family, 11 days shy of his 84th birthday, on April 15, 2026. He was born Arthur Lamar Yarbrough to Arthur Dale Yarbrough and Ruby Chiles Yarbrough on April 26, 1942. Lamar was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church in Woodland, MS. 

After retirement from B&W, Lamar went into the cattleman business, raising Charlet Cattle and loved every minute of it but he also loved getting his hands even dirtier helping his brother-in-law, Hugh, rebuild hay mowers. If you couldn't find him around the house or farm working, he was probably out hunting, as that was a favorite hobby of his. 

A funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Bethel Baptist Church beginning at 2:00 PM with Bro. Henry Robertson and Bro. Sammy McMillen officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00PM until the time of service. Burial will be at Marvin Hill Cemetery in Cumberland, MS. Houston Funeral Home is honored to serve the Yarbrough Family. 

Taylor Yarbrough, Tyler Yarbrough, BJ Yarbrough, Skyler Yarbrough, Tony Holdiness and Brian Williams are all honored to serve as pallbearers. 

Lamar is survived by his wife, Lana Yarbrough; his daughter, Pam (Barney) Holdiness of Noxapater, MS; his sons, Barry (Mary) Yarbrough of Noxapater, MS, Jeffrey (Nikki) Yarbrough of NaNih Waiya, MS and Phi (Lori) Yarbrough of Clarksville, TN; one brother, Benny Yarbrough of Columbus, MS; 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; and the mother of his children, Netti B Moore of Noxapater, MS.

Lamar was preceded in death by his father and Mother Arthur Dale and Ruby Yarbrough, sister-in-law, Janie Yarbrough, his second wife, Ruth Crowley Yarbrough.
