Ann Millsaps, age 93, passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Diversicare in Eupora, MS. Born on January 22, 1931, in Mantee, MS, to James Preston and Martha Inmon Davis, Ann was a dedicated educator and a beloved member of her community. She graduated from Cumberland High School, Wood Junior College, and MS State University, and spent her career teaching 2nd grade at Cumberland, where she eventually retired.

Ann was a devoted member of Mantee Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years and was known as a full-time prayer warrior. She married Richard Zearl Millsaps, and together they raised three daughters. Ann cherished her role as a navy wife for 22 years and enjoyed spending time outdoors, baking sourdough bread, and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Martha M. (Phillip) Sullivan, Marianne M. Johnson, and Margaret M. (Buck) Nichols, all of Mantee, MS; her grandchildren, Richard Sullivan, Blake (Maegan) Johnson, Michael Sullivan, Kellie J. (Rob) McKnight, Preston (Sally) Sullivan, Courtney N. (Matt) Scerbak, Heidi N. (Jack) Madgen, Laura N. (Damon) Howe, and Andrew Nichols; 16 great-grandchildren; her sister, Jimmie Rose Davis Ivy of Anchor, MS; and a host of nieces and nephews. Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Zearl Millsaps, her parents, and her siblings, Joseph Robert (Joe Bob) Davis, Daniel Inmon Davis, and Sue Katherine Davis McKinnon.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, at Mantee Baptist Church with Bro. Reeves Garrett officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 12:00 PM, followed by burial at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Mantee, MS. Houston Funeral Home is honored to serve the Millsaps family.

Serving as pallbearers are Bruce Johnson, John Williams, Jim Ray, Tim Roberson, Keith Hudsbeth, and Ricky Hubbard.

Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Sullivan, Blake Johnson, Rob McKnight, Michael Sullivan, Preston Sullivan, Matt Scerbak, Jack Madgen, Damon Howe, and Andrew Nichols.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Zearl Millsaps, her parents, James Preston and Martha Davis, and her brothers, Joseph Robert (Joe Bob) Davis, Daniel Inmon Davis, and her sister, Sue Katherine Davis McKinnon.
