Obituary

Anne Boland Love,80, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2019 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Mississippi. She was born November 15, 1938, in Calhoun City, Mississippi to Emmett and Mary Lester Boland. She graduated from Calhoun City High School.

After attending Memphis School of Commerce and receiving a business degree, she worked at Mid-South Title Company in Memphis. On August 17, 1957, she married the love of her life, Doug Love Sr., and they lived in Starkville, Mississippi while he finished his senior year at Mississippi State. Immediately after he graduated, he had to report for active duty with the National Guard for six months during the Cuban Crisis. She returned home in Calhoun City and worked at Boland's Department Store while he was away. When he returned, they moved to Newton County, where Doug taught school and she worked in the principal's office as a secretary and bookkeeper. In 1965, they moved to Houston, Mississippi where Doug taught school and she worked at the elementary and high school as secretary and bookkeeper until she retired in 1992.

She was an active member of First United Methodist Church and Wesley Fellowship Class, where she worked with the youth, taught Children's Sunday School Class, and served in any way she could including Nursing home ministry, Wednesday morning bible study, Blanket Ministry, and the annual Bazaar.

She was a member of the Delphian Club, and the Trace Regional Hospital Pink Ladies. She was active in many church, school, and community activities. She loved the Lord, her family and friends, and the Mississippi State Bulldogs.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna (Jefferey) Wilson of Houston, MS.; her sons, Doug (Rhonda) Love of Pontotoc, MS, and Daryl (Missy) Love of Vardaman, MS.; her nine grandchildren, Brian Wilson, Lee (Courtney) Love, Walt (Stephanie) Love, Shaw Love, Maggie (Alex) Bray, Hanna (Seth) Burt, Kyle Wilson, Jessica (George) Adelt, and Scott (Patty) Jolly; her fourteen greatgrandchildren, Amberlee Wilson, Virgil Love, Welby Love, Landon Love, Cohen Love, Diamond Walls, Aleena Walls, Jase Irvin, Daily Ann Hubbard, Andi Lynn Bray, Piper Adelt, Presley Adelt, Payten Adelt, and Parker Adelt; and one special niece, Brenda Landman.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her late husband, Doug Love Sr.; her sisters, Letha Odom, Frances Gregg, and Sue Upshaw; her brothers, Emmett Boland, Robert Boland, and Jim Boland; and one special brother-in-law, Benford Gregg.

Visitation will be 9:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Houston First United Methodist Church in Houston, Mississippi.

Houston Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.

Services will be 12:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the Houston First United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Ducker officiating.

Burial will be at Prospect Methodist Church Cemetery in Houston, Mississippi.

Pallbearers will be Brian Wilson, Lee Love, Walt Love, Shaw Love, Kyle Wilson, and Charlie Boland.
